As a 49-year-old non-smoker, Rhonda Sistrunk was shaken when she was told she had stage 4 lung cancer.
But she and her husband, Steve, decided that if they could take an active role in her treatment plan, they would have the best chance at fighting this disease. What they weren't prepared for was their local oncologist telling them they couldn't be a part of the decision in how she was treated.
That's why Rhonda and Steve came to Moffitt. Here, they became true partners with Dr. Mary Pinder-Schenck in Rhonda's care plan - and today, she is completely cancer free.
