Go blue for colorectal cancer awareness

Gene signature may help spot patients at colon cancer recurrence risk

In colon cancer tissue samples from 177 patients from the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, Fla., the signature identified in the highly invasive mouse cells -- the "high recurrence" (or "poor prognosis") signature -- was associated with increased risk of recurrence and death across all stages of disease.

Hope Lodge gives hope to families during tough times

Funded by the American Cancer Society, Hope Lodge is located by the Moffitt Cancer Center and allows those fighting to win the battle against cancer to stay for free and it opens its doors to their families as well.

Cutting for a cause

Last August, Froncillo and her husband, David, co-owners of AfterImage Salon, raised $2,800 in their first "Cut for a Cure," a fundraiser that benefits research at the Moffitt Cancer Center Foundation for cystic fibrosis, a genetic disorder that affects the secretory glands, including the glands that make mucus and sweat. 

Rays holding free skin cancer screenings
