The Moffitt Research Institute was founded in 1993, and earned its National Cancer Institute designation just five years after opening. More than 135 investigators are currently researching new strategies for treating nearly 30 different types of cancers, how genetic makeup affects outcomes, and the personal differences that make each patient's cancer unique.
