For more information, contact: Michelle Foley TAMPA, Fla. (June 8, 2010) - In an effort to raise awareness and educate the Latino community, Moffitt Cancer Center presents "¡Salud! Serie de charlas," a free program developed by Latinos to be delivered entirely in Spanish. The fourth installment of this series is from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. June 26 in the Ted and Marty Couch Auditorium at the Stabile Research Building. An expert panel of Spanish-speaking Moffitt and community physicians will present on health topics, followed by an opportunity for audience members to ask questions. Areas of discussion will include blood cancers (leukemia, lymphoma, multiple myeloma) and bone marrow transplantation. Florida Blood Services will be onsite to register participants into the National Marrow Donor Program. There will also be literature on a wide range of related topics for attendees to take home. Lunch will be provided. Parking and door prizes are included. The event is sponsored by The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and Sweetbay Supermarket.
