Studies consistently show a connection between a high intake of fruits and vegetables and reduced cancer risk. This is believed to be due to the cancer fighting substances or phytochemicals found in all plant foods.

In order to get the optimal cancer fighting chemicals and fiber in your diet, consume seven servings of plant foods each day in addition to the five servings of fruits and vegetables.
