Tampa: 10th Annual Men’s Health Forum, March 6, 2010
Tampa: Colorectal Cancer Awareness, "Dress in Blue Day"
Moffitt Cancer Center staff members provided information to the public on colorectal cancer at the Downtown Fresh Market in Tampa on March 5, 2010. The information focused on the importance of screening for colorectal cancer, as well as how to prevent cancer through diet and exercise. In addition, Tampa Mayor Pam Iorio proclaimed March 5 as "Dress in Blue Day" to support colorectal cancer awareness and prevention. Click here to view the proclamation.
Clearwater: Lifestyle Family Fitness Center
On Sept. 10, 2009, Moffitt registered dietitian Heather Bell discussed nutrition with the Silver Sneakers group at Lifestyle Family Fitness Center in Clearwater.
Tampa: MetLife Health Fair
On Feb. 11, 2009, several Moffitt departments or programs, including LATTE, Nutrition, Moffitt Diversity and Miles for Moffitt, took part in a health fair for the employees at MetLife's Tampa office.
Ruskin: KIP (Knowledge Is Power)
On Jan. 24, 2009, KIP, a Moffitt Cancer Center program, promoted healthy lifestyles by providing cancer awareness education, activities and wellness tips at the SouthShore Regional Library in Ruskin. It was co-sponsored by the SouthShore Friends of the Library.
Tampa: Faces of Lung Cancer exhibit
On Nov. 20, 2008, the exhibit was on display throughout the day at the City of Tampa Municipal Building.
Tampa: Lung Cancer "Lunch & Learn" for City of Tampa Employees
On Nov. 20, 2008, Moffitt's Christie Pratt discussed "Lung Cancer – Raising our Awareness" in a lunch lecture for City of Tampa employees
Lake Mary: Seminole County Medical Society
On Nov. 18, 2008, Moffitt's Jan Marshburn spoke about patient referral at the Quarterly Meeting of the Seminole County Medical Society at the Heathrow Country Club in Lake Mary, Fla.
Tampa: Greater Federation Women’s Club – Pink Ribbon Tea
On Nov. 16, 2008, Moffitt's Dr. Christine Laronga presented a lecture on breast cancer during the Greater Federation Women's Club's Pink Ribbon Tea.
